Well, if I've learned one lesson since our arrival in Iowa, its to tackle only one habit at a time. While I am working on my own schedule and getting into the habit of getting up early, an exercise routine, a preschool routine, an rebuilt-my-pantry-and-freezer routine, I should've just said I would start on the blog routine a bit later once we got settled. HA. I got on one day soon after my last post, and wrote this beautiful post about a new friend we met at a church we visited, who took us out into the country to do some exploring and even to The Cheese House, where we tried our very first fresh cheese curds. However, something happened to our internet connection and the post was lost and, not having the energy or time to write it all again, my motivation zapped. And there has gone the last month or so since I posted last. We've had plenty of company (which we loved) as well.
But now, here we are, and a routine is slowly getting established. I'm getting up super early and cramming in a bunch of stuff before the boys get up. We're doing some preschool activities most days. We're getting exercise, all of us. We're finding doctors. Next up, dentists. :) Mark is doing a weekly class at the Parks & Rec here called PeeWee Games, it meets once a week and its just something he is doing without Tony.
Tomorrow we start at the first meeting of a mom's group that's called Hearts in Touch at a church we have attended a couple of times and really like, and I just read that the theme is going to be why all moms need community. I'm looking forward to going, hopefully meeting some people and maybe beginning to slowly find a way into this community. The church we like the best, we are not 100% sold on just yet. So now we're looking for more places to start the looking process. We have great neighbors, and one other couple (the one who took us to the cheese house) that we've sort of been getting to know, but they're moving to Arizona by the end of October :/ Other than that, no casual friends either, nobody even "Facebook Friend" worthy. We, especially myself, are getting a little desperate to get plugged in somewhere, for us, for the boys, just to invite someone to sit with us at the firepit or just plain visit :)
Its getting cool here. I dont' want to be anxious about getting connected. But last night it got into the 30s. Winter is apparently around the corner here. I want to enjoy it, on all fronts :)
