So Wednesday morning, I dropped Mark off at LeAnne's house for about an hour and a half while I went to do some photos. When I came back, she told me all about what they did... played with the rattle, had a "photo shoot" with her and Ron and also with Ron's parents who stopped by as well. When he got fussy, he got a bottle and fell asleep eating and that's how he was when I came back to get him - asleep on LeAnne's lap on the couch. She said she hadn't even changed his diaper or even checked it, which I said was totally fine because I literally put that diaper on him and drove to her house. Chances are, in that short amount of time if you didn't hear anything, he probably didn't need to be changed.
So I sit on the couch with them and chat, Mark wakes up and is squirming in her lap alot, but seems happy. Ron is working on the laptop on the other couch at this time. We're just talking, and next thing we know, we hear the very unpleasant sound of Mark filling his diaper. Her first response is lift him up off of her lap and we were laughing, until she said that it was all up on his back! Then she discovered it was on her pants! She hands him to me and we realize then that its on my pants. Where was it coming from?? I grab a blanket and take him to the foyer, which is where the diaper bag and the changing pad were. I lay him down and evaluate how to begin this process in their foyer. I start with his socks, which of course, have poop on them. Off they go.Then his pants and his onesie, which basically drags poop all over the changing pad as I'm taking it off of him. LeAnne got me two bags - one for his gross clothes and one for trash - and I'm quickly filling both! His back needed to be completely cleaned off, and when we removed his diaper, lo and behold - there was hardly any poop in the actual diaper! How bizarre. So I almost hadn't even brought a spare outfit, thinking Mark wouldn't need it for that short of time. I'm SO glad that I had one.
Mark and I survived this adventure, let's hope LeAnne's pants did as well! :)
